Primark Bolton evacuated for a short time as precaution

The incident took place at Primark in Market Place Shopping Centre today, December 5.

Shoppers and staff were evacuated from the store after the drama,but were allowed in within minutes, a staff member said.

An eyewitness reported hearing a “bang” in the shop.

But staff and shoppers were not kept out for long, only for around “five minutes” before it was clear that there was no threat.

No emergency services were called to the store and it was business as usual at the centre, which is running a whole host of Christmas activities throughout the festive season.
