Hundreds of cannabis plants found inside Bolton mill

Officers were called to Weston Mill Mowers in Great Lever early this morning, November 11, after receiving intelligence from the public.
When they arrived, they discovered hundreds of cannabis plants spread across the entire third floor of the building.
The growing area was fenced off behind a wooden door reinforced with nails, and parts of the building are still being used by other businesses.

A police dog unit was deployed to help formally clear the site and officers were seen taking names and contact details of people arriving at the mill.
CCTV cameras were also reported to be operating inside the building.
Police Inspector James Astbury, form the Bolton Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “It’s big, there are absolutely loads of plants, hundreds and hundreds.
“It is a huge operation and we might need help from other resources.
“It’ll take a whole day if not longer to clear.”
No arrests have been made so far.
