Trump’s crusade against the Federal Reserve will be self-defeating

Editor’s note: On August 25th, Donald Trump said that he had fired Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve’s board, alleging “deceitful and possibly criminal conduct in a financial matter”. It is as yet unclear whether Ms Cook or the Fed will accept president’s decision.
