LIVE UPDATES: Tamara Lich back in court, fighting to ease house arrest rules

More than four years since the Freedom Convoy protest was brought to a forceful end by police, organizer Tamara Lich is still dealing with the fallout from the anti-mandate demonstration.

Lich was found guilty of mischief related charges for her role in the protest and was given strict conditions as part of her sentence.

On Friday, her case is back in an Ottawa courtroom, where she’s looking to have some of those restrictions relaxed so she has more flexibility with her new role as a Rebel News reporter and Community Ambblockador.

Lich is allowed to leave home for work under these terms of her house arrest, but after attending a Fourth of July reception hosted by the U.S. Ambblockador to Canada as a journalist, establishment media outlets erupted in outrage — and soon after, the judiciary moved to restrict her ability to travel outside of Alberta.

But Lich’s role requires her to travel across the country, attend events and meet Canadians where they are, which is why she’s fighting back against these restrictions.
