This performance marked the fourth occasion in Allen’s career that he achieved five touchdowns in a single game, following a week where he threw two touchdown pblockes and ran for another two in a remarkable 36-31 season-opening victory against the Houston Texans.

The state-of-the-art stadium, valued at $2.1 billion, officially opened doors last month, situated directly across from the Bills’ previous home.
In a flair of fireworks following the pre-game festivities, Allen orchestrated touchdown drives on each of Buffalo’s initial four possessions. Running back James Cook contributed significantly with 134 rushing yards and capped it all off with a 1-yard rushing touchdown with just under three minutes left in the game.
With his two rushing touchdowns, Allen reached a career total of 83, tying him for 18th place on the NFL’s all-time list alongside Jim Taylor. Additionally, he celebrated his 90th regular-season win, joining an elite group of four quarterbacks to achieve that feat in their first nine seasons.

On the other side, the Lions faced challenges with an injury-ravaged defense and an offensive line struggling to make successful blocks for Jahmyr Gibbs and provide protection for Jared Goff.
After rallying from a dire 21-0 deficit to narrow Buffalo’s lead to 34-24, the Lions’ offense faltered late in the fourth quarter. Deep in their territory, the Lions were unable to convert, going three-and-out, following two tipped pblockes from Goff and a minimal gain for Gibbs.

Goff concluded the game with impressive stats: 26 completions on 38 attempts for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Amon-Ra St. Brown starred with nine receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while Gibbs added an 11-yard scoring catch despite being limited to 52 yards on the ground. Sam LaPorta also contributed with a 1-yard touchdown reception.

Designed to handle Buffalo’s weather, the open-air stadium features underground heating coils to prevent the natural grblock from freezing, alongside sophisticated roof sensors that monitor snow levels and trigger the world’s largest stadium snow-melt system.
The innovative design also includes a 360-degree canopy that protects the majority of spectators from wind.

With a seating capacity of 60,108, Highmark Stadium accommodates approximately 10,000 fewer fans than its predecessor.
