Flattering, Plus-Size Friendly Midi with Functional Pockets
I was a little skeptical when I first pulled this dress out of the package because visually it reads slightly polyester, and it does have a polyester lining. Once I handled it, though, it felt much nicer than expected. The fabric has a smooth, almost cotton sateen feel, and overall quality is solid for the price point. It’s lightweight and appropriate for spring and summer, though the lining isn’t especially breathable. It’s not heavy, but it’s not ultra-airy either. Fit-wise, I ordered an XXL (I typically wear a 20/22 and often a 1X on top), and it fit comfortably through the waist and hips. The silhouette is easy and flattering, and at 5'4" it still hits at a true midi length, which I found very wearable. The puff sleeves are surprisingly flattering rather than bulky, though I did unbutton the sleeve buttons for a bit more comfort. I experienced slight gaping at the top of the button-front; I would likely add a small snap or use a safety pin for a more secure fit. The adjustable belt felt more decorative than shape-defining on me, but the overall cut is forgiving and plus-size friendly. The pockets are functional and deep enough to use. They do add a bit of bulk at the hips, but I’d gladly accept that trade-off for having pockets at all. The dress moves well when walking and feels comfortable enough to wear all day. In terms of occasion, this works nicely for daytime events, church, or a “Sunday best” style wedding where you want to look polished but not overdressed. I styled it with espadrilles, white sandals, and block flats, and it adapted easily. It may wrinkle if tightly packed, so I’d be more inclined to travel with it for a specific occasion rather than as a low-maintenance everyday travel piece. Compared to other cotton shirt dresses I’ve worn, this leans more budget than luxe, but it’s a very good value. I would keep it if I’d paid for it, especially for spring and summer events where you want something modest, flattering, and easy to wear.

    What knocked the star off: Grace Karin's love for poly. This one was the best with the outer layer 98% cotton but the shell was 98% poly. If anything I want the cotton against my skin.
    I also did not like that the button up design did not have a boob friendly generous cut and produced a gap if I squared my shoulders back too far; my first wear I had an undershirt due to cold weather, and the second time I ended up safety pinning the whole front which solved it splendidly. This definitely could have been a hidden zipped front with fake buttons. The bottom up is a great feature if you're breastfeeding or pumping though.

    Really love the blue and green colors of this dress. Wanted so much for it to be the perfect fit. Sadly, the waist is too high, making the proportions completely wrong for me. The gathers were higher than my waist, and made my waist look much wider than it actually is. I'm trying to hide that menopausal belly, not emphasize it!!!! All the photos and videos make it look like the waist seam is actually closer to the waist…..but not on me. Such a disappointment. The fabric is lightweight and very nice. Could have been the perfect summer dress.

    This dress is beautiful and is appropriate for dressy occasions, weddings, church, professional meetings. If you are small busted size down due to blousy style, but fit perfect in the waist and hips. It was true to photo and is made of a soft satin type fabric it is fully lined in the bodice and skirt. Very well made light weight fabric.
