A Flixbus travelling from Copenhagen to Vienna crashed overnight on Friday leaving more than 20 people injured with one in critical condition.
The bus overturned on the A19 motorway in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as it headed towards a stop in Berlin.
Flixbus said on Friday that 23 p***engers had been injured in the accident.
“Flixbus offers its full support to the victims and their families and will be available to provide all necessary ***istance,” the company said in a statement.
The company did not provide further details on the condition of the people injured in the accident, but a local police statement said one of the injuries was critical.
A police spokesperson was unable to provide any details on the severity of the injuries but said that there were other seriously injured people, according to a report by German news agency dpa.
The bus was carrying 53 p***engers and two drivers from Copenhagen to Vienna in the direction of Berlin, according to reports.
Sophie Pawelke, a spokesperson for the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state police, told Danish newspaper BT that four Danish nationals were believed to have been on the bus.

According to the initial police report, p***engers included citizens of Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Ukraine, France, Syria, Australia and Italy.
Austria’s Foreign Ministry said that “based on current information”, no Austrians had been “affected” by the crash, Austria’s public broadcaster ORF reported.
The German police statement does not list Austria among the countries with nationals on board the crashed bus.
Uninjured p***engers were taken to the town of Röbel by another bus from where they were to be taken to Berlin and ***isted with their onward journeys.
The accident occurred around 2:40am at the Röbel junction. The bus is reported to have veered to the right of the road before overturning.
Emergency services, the fire department, and rescue helicopters were called to the scene. The public prosecutor’s office in Germany has called in an expert from DEKRA, a company which conducts vehicle inspections and roadworthiness tests, to investigate.
This incident follows other recent serious Flixbus accidents in Germany. In January, a weather-related Flixbus accident on the A11 in northeastern Brandenburg resulted in the deaths of two people and eleven others were injured.
