Aug. 17 (UPI) — An American Airlines jet blew two tires while landing at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on Monday afternoon, according to federal investigators.
No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the incident involving Flight 386 occurred at around 2 p.m. CDT.
Pblockengers deplaned from the Boeing 737-800, which had departed from New York City’s LaGuardia Airport, via stairs and were bused to the terminal, according to the FAA, which said it was investigating.
American Airlines said in a statement the flight experienced “a tire issue” after landing, resulting in first responders meeting the aircraft “out of an abundance of caution” and in accordance to procedures.
“The aircraft has been taken out of service to be inspected by our maintainance team,” American Airlines said.
“We apologize to our customers for their experience.”
