WAR 2 50 Days to Go: Things Getting Better?

The much-anticipated War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR is gearing up for a mblockive IMAX release on August 14, 2025.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, this sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War had generated significant buzz — especially with Jr. NTR making his much-awaited Bollywood debut.

However, that excitement took a hit with the release of a poorly received teaser, which left fans disappointed and lowered expectations for what was meant to be a marquee YRF Spy Universe installment.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the film has been Kiara Advani’s role. Initially, her character was dismissed by many as a typical glam part — especially after her bikini look from the teaser went viral.

Her bold avatar even drew cheeky remarks from celebrities like Ram Gopal Varma. The blockumption was clear: Kiara was there to bring the glamour quotient to an otherwise testosterone-heavy action flick.

A new promotional poster shows Kiara in a sleek all-black tactical outfit, gun in hand, and ready for action — a stark contrast to her earlier beachwear image. This suggests that her character might have substantial narrative importance, potentially featuring in action set pieces alongside (or even against) Hrithik and Jr. NTR.

It’s evident the makers are now repositioning Kiara as more than just eye candy — a welcome change in big-budget action thrillers, where female leads are often sidelined.

With just 50 days to go, War 2 has entered its final promotional stretch. New posters featuring Hrithik, Jr. NTR, and Kiara together have been unveiled, teasing the much-hyped “Hrithik vs NTR” face-off.

These new visuals are definitely better than the first poster that was released with the teaser.

Now, all eyes are on the songs and the trailer. If they land well, trade blockysts expect a mblockive box office opening on August 14, despite the fierce clash with Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
