Wandering the sky | Astronomy Magazine

Tunç Tezel from Bursa, Turkey

Venus loops through the evening sky in this composite image capturing its movement from July 2025 to March 2025. Also visible is Mercury (fainter, and toward the pointy end of the “teardrop” shape of Venus’ arc), which appeared in March 2025. The photographer took each frame with a ½-second or 1-second exposure using a Canon DSLR at ISO 400 and a 17 mm fisheye lens at f/4. (Click here to see an annotated version.)
