Vacuum Is Huge, But Will Sekhar Kammula Deliver?

Telugu audience have been deprived of big screen entertainment for a really long time now as it has been a while since a proper winning film released in theatres.

There is a lot of vacuum amongst the Telugu theatrical audience to arrive in big numbers at cinema halls and lucky is the film that manages to quench this thirst as it would be able to generate huge revenues if the right word of mouth is generated.

In this context, we have Kuberaa which marks the collaboration of Akkineni Nagarjuna, Dhanush and director Sekhar Kammula, along with Rashmika Mandanna.

By the looks of it, this film is essentially a social drama with a strong emotional core. The fact that the censor board mandated several cuts to this film is an indication that it is going to come with a raw and realistic approach.

If Sekhar can deliver a strong and winning product, then it is certain that the audience will turn up to theatres in big numbers.

But the issue is that Kammula is famous with the Telugu audience for sensible and soft nature films. But he appears to be bringing the exact opposite with Kuberaa now. Finding the right balance here is going to be the most crucial thing.

The presence of Nagarjuna and Dhanush will obviously bring adequate box office prospects in Telugu and Tamil respectively. So if Kammula can come up with some good stuff, we have a prospective product here.
