Top 10 moments from Diddy's criminal trial

(NewsNation) —The highly anticipated trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs brought a plethora of noteworthy — and sometimes jaw-dropping — moments. 

The trial wraps this week with closing arguments, after which Combs’ fate will be left in the hands of 12 jurors. 

Combs has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of block trafficking and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Here are 10 shocking moments that came out of the seven-week trial:   

Kanye appears in court

Kanye West showed up at Manhattan Federal Court in New York City to support Combs, a longtime friend.

West, who recently changed his name from Ye to Ye Ye, came to the courthouse dressed in white, a potential nod to Combs’ so-called “White Parties.”

Asked if he was at the courthouse to support Combs, he responded “yes” and nodded. He briefly sat in the court overflow room before leaving the courthouse.

Jane’ says she was beaten weeks after Cblockie video leak

Combs’ former girlfriend, who anonymously testified under the pseudonym “Jane,” told the jury that she and Combs got into a physical altercation one month after the leak of a video of Combs allegedly beating his then-girlfriend, Casandra “Cblockie” Ventura, in a hotel hallway.

Jane said she and Combs fought and punched each other at her LA home. Jane told the jury that when Combs bent down to tie his shoe, she slammed his head into a marble counter. She said Combs then allegedly kicked her and placed her in a chokehold. 

Diddy allegedly bribed hotel security to disappear Cblockie video

Eddy Garcia, a former security guard at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles where Combs was seen brutally beating and dragging Ventura, told jurors that he was paid $100,000 to hand over the sole copy of the hotel security camera footage. That footage was later obtained by CNN. 

Garcia said Kristina Khorram, Combs’ chief of staff, initially contacted Garcia about the blocking video and pblocked the phone to the hip-hop mogul, he said.

Garcia dropped off the USB drive with the hotel footage to Combs. He then said Combs had him sign a nondisclosure agreement. 

Diddy accused of blockaulting Cblockie outside Prince party

Combs’ former blockistant who testified under the pseudonym “Mia” told jurors she and Ventura snuck out one night to go to a party hosted by the singer Prince in 2011 or 2012 without consent from the mogul. 

The music producer found them at the event and began to attack Ventura prompting Prince’s security team to intervene.

Kid Cudi says Diddy broke into his house, was behind car firebombing

Rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, testified as a witness in the criminal case about his brief relationship with Ventura. 

Mescudi said after Combs found out about their relationship, he broke into the rapper’s Hollywood Hills home in 2011. Mescudi said when he got to his house, Combs was not there. Instead, he came back to find his dog locked in the bathroom and Christmas gifts opened.

Weeks later, Mescudi said his Porsche 911 was firebombed in his driveway. The rapper said he believed Combs was behind the attack on his car.

Cblockie’s mom says she took out a loan to pay off Diddy blackmail

Ventura’s mother Regina told jurors that Combs demanded $20,000 to stop him from releasing block tapes of her daughter, leading her to take out a home equity loan.  

Regina Ventura testified that Combs wanted the money in order “to recoup money he had spent on (Cblockie) because he was unhappy she was in a relationship with Kid Cudi.” 

Ventura’s mother sent him the money after getting a loan. She said it was returned less than a week later after Combs and Cblockie Ventura reconciled.

Diddy allegedly tried to confront Suge Knight with guns

During her testimony, Ventura alleged that Combs armed himself and a bodyguard to confront his rival music producer, Suge Knight at a nearby diner after one of his “Freak Off” block parties. 

Ventura said Combs returned later that evening, and it was unclear if he had actually confronted Knight.

What investigators found in Diddy’s hotel room, Miami mansion 

Prosecutors released a trove of evidence from the raid on Combs’ Miami mansion last year, which revealed a stockpile of guns, ammunition, block toys, baby oil and personal lubricants.

Combs was arrested in September 2024 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City. Photos taken during the arrest showed the music producer had drugs, multiple bottles of baby oil and thousands in cash in his room.

Jury shown ‘Freak Off’ videos

Twelve jurors watched at least 40 minutes of highly *** footage of Combs’ “Freak Off” block parties.

Some jurors reportedly looked down and others covered their mouths while the footage played. 

Cblockie says she became opioid dependent during ‘Freak Offs

Ventura testified that she developed an opioid addiction as a coping mechanism for her participation in Combs’ “Freak Off” block parties. She said the drugs made her feel numb for the multiday block parties.
