The Theater Crisis is worsening in the Telugu States day by day.
Exhibitors and Distributors who pinned hopes on Thug Life had only to disappoint. The movie carrying disastrous talk opened to around 1 Crore Share on its First Day across the Telugu States.

Nithin’s Father, Sudhakar Reddy, paid 18 Crore Advance for the film.
At best, the movie will collect 2 Crore Share in AP&TS. Even that is because the movie is already on a Percentage Basis.

Friday numbers are already horrendous everywhere, indicating that it will be another disappointing weekend at the box office.
The hopes of Exhibitors of a good feeding are gone in the air.

With Hari Hara Veeramallu postponed at the last minute, there is no film next week as well.
That means there is no content until the 20th of this month when Kubera releases.
From today, each and every theatre in Telugu states will be either closed or have to run with very minimal collections
That Minimal collections may not even cover the maintenance. Things may not be great even after the release of Kubera, except for feeding one theater in every center.
This scenario paints a very grim picture of the Theaters in both the Telugu States.
Almost all the active producers, distributors, and, needlessly the Exhibitors are very concerned about this scenario.
The Best or Worst Part of this crisis is that all the Producers are acknowledging the Crisis and also know what should be done to change it, but the question is who will bell the cat.
Producer Bunny Vas today posted an interesting message on X, saying that it is time to revise the strategy of giving films for 4 Weeks.
“If this scenario continues, 90% of single-screen Theaters will shut down in 4-5 years. Big Heroes will also rethink the strategy of doing one film every 2-3 years. Audiences are not coming to theaters as a result. In that case, Single Screens will die and you only have to survive on the 43% revenue the Multiplexes will offer,” Bunny Vas wrote.
All the films made by Bunny Vas, including the recent ones – Thandel and Single, have arrived on OTT in Four Weeks.
After the big stars, if there is one star who can dictate the OTT Platforms, it is Nani, whose films are doing better on OTT than in theaters.
Even Nani gives his films for Four Weeks and can not take a stand for a longer window, cashing on his demand. That is the actual scenario.
That is the major problem in the industry right now. Everyone acknowledges there is a problem, everyone is aware of what to do to overcome it, but no one is really interested in coming forward to set things right.
If at all, the Guild or the Chamber comes forward to bring the 8 Weeks OTT Rule, we will see Producers flouting it with back-dated OTT Agreements.
We will see producers saying that it is our money at stake, and how come the Chamber/Guild dictates to us?
In 2022, the producers have stalled the shootings for 56 days to sit down in discussions until we find workable resolutions.
One of the simplest decisions taken after that Strike is not to have the Logo of the OTT Platform in Theater Prints. The Producers were not able to implement that even today.
The most difficult part of this scenario is the big stars doing films quickly.
Doing Big Event films is more of a strategy and career planning of the stars. Who could force a change in that?
