Aurorae shimmer on the night of May 28/9 over Lake Saganaga in Minnesota, near the Canadian border. The photographer notes that wildfire smoke caused the aurorae to take on a “fuzzy, diffuse” appearance — even though the image itself is sharp with pinpoint stars. A Sony mirrorless camera and 14mm lens was used to take a 1.3-second exposure at f/1.8 and ISO 3200.
