Nithiin Disappoints Dil Raju: Thammudu Not Enough?

Nithiin’s upcoming film Thammudu, directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju, is set to release on July 4.

As part of the promotions, a candid interview featuring both Nithiin and Dil Raju has sparked quite a buzz online — mainly due to the producer’s honest and introspective comments.

During the chat, Nithiin asked what changes Dil Raju had observed in him since their first collaboration, Dil (2003). Dil Raju noted that Nithiin actually entered the industry before he did — with Jayam in 2002, while Dil Raju made his debut in 2003.

He acknowledged that over the years, Nithiin has matured significantly in understanding both cinema and the industry.

However, Dil Raju didn’t hold back. He admitted that when he produced Dil, he believed both Nithiin and Allu Arjun (from Arya) were future stars.

While Allu Arjun went on to achieve next-level stardom, he was disappointed that Nithiin was left behind. He believes Nithiin still hasn’t fully tapped into his true potential.

When Nithiin asked whether Thammudu could take him to that level, Dil Raju responded that while it could make him a successful hero again, it wouldn’t be enough.

He said that truly breaking into the top tier would likely require a film like Yellamma — Nithiin’s upcoming high-stakes project, again with Dil Raju.

The exchange quickly went viral on social media. Fans appreciated Dil Raju’s honest feedback and Nithiin’s maturity in receiving it gracefully.

With Thammudu trying to generate some buzz, the big question now is whether it will be a turning point in Nithiin’s career — just as Dil was two decades ago.
