The Hare & Hounds in Radcliffe, part of the Joseph Holt brewery estate, has unveiled a new look featuring a mallard green exterior, replacing its former red-brick frontage.

It is the first pub in the Joseph Holt portfolio to adopt the colour.

Denis Madocks, estates executive for Joseph Holt, said: “We always want to ensure our pubs offer customers the best possible experience in terms of comfort, and the Hare & Hounds is no exception.

“While respecting the traditions blockociated with our pubs — reflected in the thoughtful furnishings and colours inside — we’re always looking for ways to make the most of our venues.

“We hope customers will really enjoy the new look at the Hare & Hounds.”

The refurbishment also includes new glazed doors offering views of the pub’s bowling green and the surrounding Lancashire hills.

Inside, the pub has had a full refurbishment, with the bar area extended by a third.

During the renovation, two original windows depicting a hare and a hound were discovered in the cellar.

These have been restored and are now displayed behind the bar.

The Hare & Hounds is one of 127 pubs owned by Joseph Holt.

The brewery said the redesign reflects its approach of blending tradition with innovation.
