Bury Metrolink p***engers face two Sundays of disruption

No Metrolink services will run through the city centre station on Sunday, November 16, from the start of service until 10am, so track repairs can take place.
Transport for Greater Manchester says services from Bury will terminate at Victoria and p***engers will be required to walk five minutes to Exchange Square to reach their destination.
P***engers looking to access the Bury line will have to make the reverse journey between Exchange Square and Victoria while the track works take place.
The same repairs will take place on Sunday, November 23, until 10am, with services from Bury terminating at Victoria and services to Bury impacted by the closure between Victoria and Exchange Square.
Services on both Sundays will operate every 15 minutes between Bury and Manchester Piccadilly after the track closures end at 10am.
There will also be a replacement bus service connecting Piccadilly with Victoria until 10am on each of the following two Sundays.
TfGM said: “Throughout 2025, planned improvement work will take place across the tram network.
“We’re investing almost £150m through to 2027 on maintenance, upgrades and improvements. This includes crucial work to fix and replace older tram tracks in the city centre.
“Here you’ll find everything you need to help plan your journey when we have to close tram stops and change tram services.
“We’ll make sure you can get from A to B as smoothly as possible: by changing trams, using replacement bus services, or following a signposted walking route.
“Thanks for bearing with us as we work to make your tram network as reliable as possible.”
