Kanye “Ye” West made a brief, surprise visit to Manhattan federal court, seemingly to support Sean “Diddy” Combs in the fallen mogul’s ongoing ***-trafficking trial.
According to reports, including from the Associated Press, West arrived at the courthouse, dressed in all white and sporting sungl***es shortly before noon and spent a little over 30 minutes in the building.
He didn’t get into the main courtroom and instead observed the proceedings via TV in the overflow room.
West indicated he was there to support Combs, according to CNN and the AP, but he didn’t respond when a reporter asked if he’d testify on Combs’ behalf, according to the AP.
West didn’t answer any additional questions as he left the courthouse.
West, who himself has remained among the most controversial figures in pop culture over his continued spree of hateful and antisemitic comments online, has voiced his support for Combs in the past. As TMZ reported, West shook hands with Combs’ son Christian Combs when he arrived.
Combs’ trial is one of the most high-profile criminal trials in recent memory as the music mogul faces allegations of abuse and *** trafficking, featuring testimonies from scores of witnesses including rapper Kid Cudi. The trial began last month, nearly 18 months after Combs’ ex-girlfriend, singer C***ie Ventura, started the avalanche of claims against Combs after suing him in November of 2023. She settled a day later and testified that she settled for $20 million.
More to come.
