Israel says it will attack ‘every target of the Ayatollah regime’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced further attacks on Iran on Saturday as the conflict between the two sides showed no sign of abating despite calls for de-escalation.

“In the near future, you will see Israeli Air Force planes over Tehran – we will attack every location and every target of the Ayatollah regime,” he said in a video address, referring to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The attacks carried out so far are nothing compared to those that will take place in the coming days, Netanyahu said. Israel wants to ward off both the threat of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles in Iran, he added.

Israel began its major attack on Iran on Friday morning, targeting nuclear facilities, leading military figures and top nuclear scientists, as well as defence positions and cities.

Iran called the airstrikes a declaration of war and fired hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel in return.
