SOUTHERN SHORES, N.C. (WAVY) – Fire destroyed a rental home on the Outer Banks of North Carolina Wednesday evening.
Cliff Ogburn, Town Manager of Southern Shores, confirmed the call came in around 6:30 p.m. for crews to respond to 150 Ocean Boulevard.
Southern Shores, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk and Duck fire departments all responded.
Although Ogburn said the house was rented, there was no one home when the fire broke out and there were no injuries reported.
Charles Schmidt saw the fire from a distance and shared video and images he took. They show a large plume of dark smoke rising from the fire.
The home was destroyed by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
