Firefighters rushed to contain a rapidly spreading brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in southwestern San Bernardino County.
The Euclid Fire was first spotted around 1:45 p.m. along Highway 71 in Chino Hills. As of 4:30 p.m., it had burned approximately 150 acres on both sides of the highway, a Cal Fire spokesperson told KTLA 5 News.
Sky5’s Gil Leyvas reported that the blaze was burning through dry brush on the west side of the highway and also thicker vegetation in the area of Prado Regional Park and Chino Creek, just north of the Santa Ana River bed.
Smoke was visible from across Jurupa Valley and the Inland Empire.

Several fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters were ***isting ground crews in building containment lines and dousing the fire with water.
Officials closed Highway 71 in both directions at Euclid Avenue. There were no reports of homes threatened or evacuations.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
