The shooting of Suriya’s 46th movie, directed by Venky Atluri, is now happening at a fast pace, and reportedly, this movie is going to be a family drama.
In this scenario, director Venky Atluri recently opened up in an interview that he narrated three different scripts to Suriya: a biopic, a heist thriller, and a family drama.

Out of these three stories, Suriya picked the family drama, and it’s going to be a proper commercial film for him.
Following this, some netizens started to criticize Suriya’s decision, saying that if Suriya 46 doesn’t work well, then Suriya is the main culprit for its failure. They feel disappointed about what made Suriya reject a biopic and a heist thriller in favor of a family drama.

However, Suriya was once on the Tier-1 actors list in terms of box office collections in Kollywood, but now, due to continuous theatrical disasters, he has almost lost his market. The success of Karuppu and Suriya 46 is crucial for him to reclaim his market, says the trade experts.
It remains to be seen how Suriya 46 is going to shape up and whether Suriya will deliver two back-to-back blockbuster successes with Karuppu and Suriya 46, and reclaim his throne upon their release.
