On stage, he announced that going forward, his banner will no longer rely on inflated YouTube views — a practice widely used by many makers used to manufacture hype for their films. Instead, only genuine audience engagement will be treated as the benchmark of success.

True to his word, the trailer for Tammudu has not followed the path of manipulated metrics. Four days since its release, the video has garnered around 2.9 million views on the producer’s official YouTube channel, with another 2 lakh-plus on T-Series.
While these numbers may seem quite low compared to other Telugu film trailers — which often rack up 10+ million views within 24 hours — insiders believe Tammudu views are entirely organic, free from paid bots or view farms.

The contrast becomes clearer when one revisits the trailers of some of Nithiin’s earlier flops. Despite low pre-release buzz, those promos registered unusually high view counts. Yet that inflated digital interest never translated into box office success, raising doubts over the credibility of such marketing tactics.
For years, it has been an open secret: some producers invest heavily in boosting YouTube views — not just for hype, but also to influence OTT deals and media narratives. Dil Raju’s move, then, is definitely bold and must be praised for honesty.

With Tammudu slated to release on July 4, and musical promotions kicking off next week, the industry will be watching closely.
