Benson Boone dropped his new single “Mystical Magical” with just a few hours left in one tracking week. The tune arrived on Thursday, April 24, and in mere hours, superfans of the Grammy nominee — and those eager to watch the rising star continue his musical ascent — rushed to buy the song. Usually, artists wait until Friday – the beginning of a new tracking period – to share new songs and albums, but there’s some strategy behind forgoing tradition and giving the world something exciting a few hours early.
Now, “Mystical Magical” debuts on a number of Billboard charts following its first full seven-day tracking frame. Pure purchases help propel the title to several rankings, as its sales count jumps significantly.
Benson Booen’s Nearly-600% Sales Spike
Luminate reports that during the most recent tracking week, “Mystical Magical” sold a little more than 3,100 copies in the U.S. That’s up from 450 in the frame prior – when the pop singer only had a few hours in which to collect purchases and streams. From one frame to the next, Boone’s latest release saw its purchases increase by 589%.
“Mystical Magical” is a Billboard Top 10
Thanks to those purchases, “Mystical Magical” hits the top 10 on one Billboard tally. It launches at No. 9 on the Digital Song Sales chart, instantly becoming Boone’s second top 10 on the purchases-only list. He previously only rose into the tier with “Beautiful Things,” which spent two frames at No. 1

“Mystical Magical” also arrives on multiple other rankings at the same time. It’s a proper hit on both the Streaming Songs chart (No. 22) and the Hot 100. On the latter list — the most important for songs in the U.S. — Boone narrowly collects another top 40 win, breaking into that special region in last place.
“Mystical Magical” also appears on both worldwide lists. It debuts at No. 29 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 59 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The latter ranking does not include sales or streams from the U.S., where Boone is most popular.
