Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life has faced an outright rejection at the Indian box office. On its second day, collections dropped by 55% to just 7.50 crore. Over two days, the film has grossed 24.50 crore.
According to trade experts, estimates suggest it may reach around 40 crores during the extended four-day weekend. Overseas, the film had a decent opening with USD 2.25 million on day one but saw a sharp decline on the second day.

Industry insiders expect Thug Life to end its theatrical run within the first week. It is likely to fall short of crossing the 50-crore mark in India—making it one of the biggest commercial disasters in recent memory.
Sunday is expected to be the last day of decent collections. After that, shows may start getting canceled from Monday, and distributors could suffer negative shares from theaters.

In the Telugu market, Nithiin’s father, Sudhakar Reddy, bought the film’s rights at a fancy price. However, sources say he may lose 70–80% of his investment due to the film’s disastrous performance.
This marks Kamal Haasan’s second consecutive box office debacle after Indian 2. Many trade experts believe a third may be on the way in the form of Indian 3, if inside reports are to be believed.
