EXCLUSIVE: Fiona Hughes, the first-ever Secret Traitor, has shared some advice for Maya Jama as Richard E Grant battles to survive the first roundtable of The Celebrity Traitors series two
Maya Jama’s alliance with Richard E Grant has come under fire with the Celebrity Traitors contestant being warned to “be careful”.
The 32-year-old television presenter was chosen to become one of Claudia Winkleman’s Traitors alongside Richard, 69, in the first episode of the series which aired last week.
The pair have since recruited comedian James Acaster and the trio are now working together to try and kill off the Faithfuls one by one without being detected.
The Faithfuls are already suspecting Richard is a Traitor after his jaw-dropping blunder where he admitted to being a Traitor in front of several cast members.
He’s since been battling to save his skin from being kicked off the show by trying to tell the other celebs he was being clever and playing mind games with them.
During one of their secret meetings in the Traitors Turret, Maya told Richard that she’ll try and help deflect any heat coming his way but a former player has warned that she needs to be careful not to get burned herself.
Fiona Hughes, who was chosen by Claudia to become the first-ever Secret Traitor in series four, has shared her thoughts on the current celebrity series and shared some words of wisdom for Love Island host Maya.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, the Welsh contestant said: “I adore Maya. She is bright, she’s beautiful and she’s got everything going for her but I think she needs to be careful not to defend Richard too much otherwise he could take her down, not that he’d want to, but that’s the way of the game.”
The second episode, which aired on Friday (October 2) ended on a cliffhanger as the first roundtable of the series was about the begin and fans will find out tonight if Richard has managed to convince the group that he’s not a Traitor.
Fiona added: “I’d love Richard to get away with it but his defence wasn’t brilliant. I think if he said ‘look I was just so excited to be here, it was a boob and it backfired on me’ but he didn’t.
“He has got some allies in there but I think if he gets away with it it’ll be a miracle. I don’t feel good about it. He is such a big personality but sometimes being one of the really well known ones isn’t going to work in your favour.”
